Edith was quite possibly the first female member of the Helsinki Balalaika Orchestra. The orchestra still exists and is one of the oldest of its kind in the world. http://www.balalaikka.fi
Sverre sailed on some of the last commercial sail ships
Sverre and Edith on their wedding day in Sydney, 9 July 1929. Edith did not like how Sverre's hair had been greased and she disliked the amount of powder that had been put on her face by Mrs Hindwood (who had made the arrangements and hosted the wedding celebration) Photo by Keith Hindwood.

Sverre had a reputation as a gentle man - in this picture holding a wild baby bird being fed.
